Who We Are
We are a small local Double Glazed Wooden Window installer and manufacturer based in Walberton, Arundel in West Sussex and also covering Kent, Hampshire and Surrey. We use the Mitre-Master™ jointing system, where the ends of the wooden window frame are cut with a small protrusion, and a socket of the same size, which then couple to another piece of wood. Our aim is to provide a friendly, efficient service, paying attention to detail, delivering on time and leaving our customers’ property clean, tidy and enhanced not only in looks but value, security and weather-tightness.
All of our men are employed by us – we do not sub-contract labour, which we feel enables our customers to have confidence in the men that carry out work in their homes. The manufacturing, painting and installation process for each individual job is carried out by the same team, thereby ensuring a quality product, well installed.
Chartwell is a member of FENSA who monitor a selection of the windows, doors and double glazing that we install to ensure that they comply with British Standards.
We also offer all our customers an insurance backed guarantee provided by IWA and underwritten by Lloyds of London at no extra cost.
All components are manufactured from either European Redwood to BS EN 942, BS 1186 Part 2 or West African Sapele from sustainable sources.
We can manufacture double glazed wood windows (classic casement and traditional sliding sash), doors, double glazing and conservatories on a supply only or a supply and fit basis in Sussex, Kent and surrounding areas including Surrey & Hampshire. We use high-tech weather seals, double-glazing, multipoint locking and a factory, spray applied, micro-porous paint or stain – all as standard. We can produce windows, doors and double glazing that give the original appearance to a property and use sand, cement and plaster rather than trim to finish in Sussex.
With regard to the colour – we can provide any colour paint that a customer requires and if they have a particular colour that they would like us to match, we are able to do this on all windows and double glazing. We can also offer a dual colour option, i.e. paint on the inside and stain on the outside.
The micro-porous paints and stains used on our products provide a re-painting cycle of 7-10 years providing they are maintained by wiping with a damp cloth from time to time. We guarantee our windows and double glazing from major defects for 10 years.
We feel that by installing wooden windows and doors, we conserve the traditional look of customers’ properties whilst also conserving energy by the introduction of double-glazing.
Also, as with all timber products, the demand for wood encourages the planting of new forests, which not only beautify the landscape but emit oxygen as a natural process, obviously essential for the survival of living creatures on our planet. Forests also provide a habitat for wildlife and much-needed employment for the local population in some third world countries.

We are members of the IWA and a FENSA registered company. The carbon footprint, energy wasted and pollution is smaller when producing a wooden window from a sustainable, managed forest than a standard UPVC window. Contact Us, as we pride ourselves on our prompt, personal service.
